Free wireless network

Georgian Technical University offers wireless Wi-Fi service to its staff, students, and visitors.

All of GTU’s educational and research institute buildings are covered by a wireless corporate Wi-Fi network infrastructure.

The network includes more than 250 wireless network access points, covering a large part of the university’s buildings, classrooms, corridors, libraries, internal courtyards, and other teaching and research rooms.

The university has four Wi-Fi networks:

  • GTU GUEST – for university guests;
  • GTU STUDENTS – for students;
  • GTU STAFF – for university staff and academic personnel;
  • eduroam – wireless roaming network

GTU staff can use the Wi-Fi roaming service.

Eduroam (“education roaming”) is a secure, worldwide roaming access service developed for the international research and education community. The service allows students, researchers, and staff of partner institutions to get internet access on campuses when visiting other partner institutions.
